Agriculture

The Aztecs used different methods of farming and one of them were chinampas.

The Aztecs created a system of chinampas in order to grow crops on Lake Texcoco. Chinampas are plots of land anchored into the lake bed that are used to produce crops. These chinampas were spaced apart so people could pass through them. These pathways also provided irrigation. Crops included maize, beans and squash.
